Last updated: . We keep this policy short: dumpd is built to be as hands-off as possible. No accounts, no marketing trackers, and no resale of data.
Who we are
The service runs under the rules on Terms of Service. If something concerns a specific link, use Report & support and include that URL.
What we collect (and why)
- Files you upload. Stored at rest with authenticated encryption (XChaCha20-Poly1305 via libsodium secretstream). Only whoever has the secret link can fetch them until your chosen retention ends; then they are deleted per the terms.
- Minimal server data. We only keep what the machine needs to answer requests and stop abuse—typically things like IP, rough time, path, browser string, and whether an upload succeeded. We do not use this for advertising or profiling.
- Support chat. If you open a chat tied to a file id, that thread is stored so staff can reply. Do not paste personal details you do not need to share.
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR applies, processing rests on contract (running the service you asked for), legitimate interests (keeping the site stable and stopping abuse), and legal obligation when the law requires it. You may object to legitimate-interest processing where the law allows.
Retention
Files disappear after the retention you pick (one hour up to fifty days). Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations, then rotated or purged on a reasonable schedule—not kept “forever.”
Disclosure — very narrow
We do not sell data and we do not share it for marketing. We do not hand out visitor information to third parties as a rule.
The only situation where information tied to an IP may be reported outside the service is if that address is clearly and repeatedly tied to illegal uploads (for example the categories banned in our terms). In that kind of sustained abuse case, relevant details may be provided to authorities or partners strictly so enforcement can proceed. Ordinary, lawful use is not monitored for sharing.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to complain to a regulator. Uploads are anonymous by design, so we may need the file link or similar technical detail to find anything specific.
Children
The service is not intended for children. Prohibited content including child sexual abuse material is not allowed and may be reported to authorities.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
